Julianne Corey

“Chief Joy Officer”
Julianne has been dancing as long as she has been upright. The former owner/director of Moving Celebrations studio in Somerville, MA, she has taught Nia in the Boston area since 2001. Julianne is a Nia Black Belt and was a member of the International Nia training faculty from 2010-2016.
Finding Nia was the key to reclaiming the Joy of living in her body. Julianne’s work is fueled by the desire to facilitate the celebration of living in a body with others who want to improve their quality of life through movement.
As a dancer and a writer, she finds her purpose in self-expression and in helping others find the tools to express themselves, so that we may all expand into our wholeness. She holds the MFA in Creative Writing and is completing the MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. She is a Senior Lecturer in the Psychology & Applied Therapies division at Lesley University and the Assistant Director of Academic Advising for Lesley’s Center for the Adult Learner.
Julianne is also mom to two teenaged boys and a three-year old Goldendoodle named Stella Bella.
